We should all praise God for our lives, it is truly a blessing to know that God, individually tends to us with love, grace and mercy. His breath of life is within us and every time we breathe in and out, we have a reason to thank Him. But, we thank God in our worship. We worship Him with our obedience, with our words and with our choices. You see, we can choose, if we wake up in the morning to go on about our day as if we woke ourselves up, but, we worship God by acknowledging that it is He that woke us up. Each day, we have a purpose in that day. There is not a day that goes by that you should be confused about who you are.
When we have waxed old or left our mortal bodies, we would all have loved to left our fingerprint on this earth. Our fingerprint is what distinguishes our stay from others. With the masses chasing behind what they call the mighty dollar, many have forgotten their purpose, or they simply never knew it. Of course, we were not put here to chase money. We must know, when we do the will of God, money chases and overtakes us as well as every other blessing of God that we allow to be loosed in our lives. But, so many have changed the course of their walk, believing that they can rewrite their schedule and go after the material treasures and forget about the spiritual ones. Matthew 6:19-21 tells us, “Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” That is not saying that you should not enjoy the blessings that God wants us to have. That is only saying that do not place value on those things wherein they become a snare to your soul. God wants to prosper you, however, He wants to do it and not you.
Ask yourself this: If you went to be with the Lord today, would you be easily forgotten after your funeral, or would generations upon generations know your name? What mark are you impressing upon this earth? Exactly what are you doing with the life that God has given you? Planning to do something does not have any force behind it, however, stepping out on faith and just doing it, is a showmanship of the valor of wisdom. So many say that God has called them to go in one direction or the other, yet they have yet to do so, believing that in the years to come, they can get back on course. Do you not know that the enemy feeds on your disobedience and your unwillingness to trust God today? If God says for us to do something, we cannot rely on tomorrow to carry it out. We must move when we are told. For those of you that are parents, you can understand it better this way:
If your son or daughter was on the telephone, talking non stop and you asked him/her to go and clean their room, however, they continued to talk…giving you that ‘one minute’ finger, just what would you do? As parents, you were taught to expect results immediately and if the child acts out in disobedience, you should react in obedience training. For those of us whose parents believed in corpal punishment, we already knew the sentence. It came swift and without a jury. When we put things off that God has called us to do, we are doing just that to God. What if Jesus said that He would go to the cross later, but he had other things that He need to do first? We would all be in trouble, because that would have been counted to Him as disobedience, but He moved as God led. What if He refused to do what He was called to do? Christ knew that He had an assignment, however, when the day came upon Him to be taken and crucified, the bible says He was in agony. However, he continued on willingly, knowing that this was the reason He came into this earth. He prayed to God, “Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.” (Luke 33:42) This displays how Christ forsake His desires and let God have His way. That is what we should be doing. Even when we are going through a trial or tribulation, we should be on our knees or on our face, asking God to strengthen us, just as the angel of the Lord came and ministered to Christ, strengthening Him. We should be allowing God to pull out of us what the devil has fought so hard to keep us from even knowing that we are in possession of. Most of what we suffer, we suffer because of disobedience, however, that does not mean that this suffering is in vain. You punish your children so that they can do what is right and they learn from their errors when disciplined diligently. You are a child of the Most High God and when you are disobedient, your spankings come in the form of health problems, financial problems, lack of peace, family problems, and death. But, if you are alive to suffer health, financial, and family problems as well as any other yoke that could be placed upon you, you have a reason to celebrate. That means, you have today to repent and change the path of your walk. “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans 6:23)
Every day, you should be looking for your mark. If you do not see it, go before God and repent. Ask Him to lead and guide you. Be sensitive to His Spirit so that you will know when you are called. Learn His voice so that you may not follow behind evil, thinking that it is Him. God will make your name for generations upon generations to come, but you should do what you are called to do. You were not called to be idle. “I will make thy name to be remembered in all generations: therefore shall the people praise thee for ever and ever.” (Psalms 45:17) When God impressions your fingerprint, no man can remove it. But, when you do evil in the sight of the Lord, even your children are cursed. “Let his posterity be cut off; and in the generation following let their name be blotted out.” (Psalm 109:13)
Start today putting your fingerprint on your life and the lives of other, only in a Godly way. There are enough people in this world who think their only assignment is self, when God has called us all to be students and eventually teachers of the gospel. You, choose to do what God wants and do as Christ did, ask God to let His will be done in your life and not your will. He will add all other things to you, but when you focus on the material things, you lose focus of a greater picture. Do not let your life be in vain. There is no excuse for anyone to die and go to hell anymore. And do more than just live each day, let God bless you so that His Name will be glorified through you. And when you do, you will be blessed, your children will be blessed, all that you touch will be blessed and God will bless them that bless you and curse them that curse you. Your name will be remembered forever and God will have had an opportunity to show you why you were created when you were created.
If Judgement Day was today, where would God find your fingerprints? Will they be all over the door handles of some club, all over alcoholic beverages or will they be on the life of others? If God sent out His Holy Angels to investigate, what report would they bring back about you? Will you find yourself condemned or redeemed? Ask yourself that and make a decision and a step now towards making your life a blessing for the Kingdom and another fist mark in Satan’s face.
