“We don’t need any more shady governors.” “It’s important to make sure the governor of Illinois has no conflict of interest that would be harmful to the people.”
That was Illinois Governor Pat Quinn speaking. He was criticizing his opponent in the gubernatorial race, Jim Brady, for refusing to make his tax returns public. There is no state law or constitutional requirement to do so. None, though so called reformers like Mr. Quinn would have you believe otherwise.
Pat Quinn lives in the glass governor’s mansion in Springfield. He is now throwing rocks.
Shady governors? He can deny all he wants knowing about the pervasive corruption of Rod Blagojevich. Only a fool would believe him. He can say Blagojevich left him out of the loop and in the dark. If that is so, why did he run a second time with a man who allegedly despised him? What cretin would do such a thing?
Shady governors? Pat Quinn is using a fourteen year old senate campaign fund as an investment vehicle- earning interest on loans made to it. He even still accepts donations to it. No matter how he explains it, it is shady. A reformer and honest person would have closed the fund down years ago.
Shady governors? He, as the state’s chief law enforcer, never ordered an investigation into the theft of a $25,000.00 state owned statue by fellow Democrat and Illinois House Representative Monique Davis. Conflict of interest?
Shady governors? Quinn is being bought by SEIU for 1.7 million dollars to do their bidding. So far they are getting their money’s worth, as he refuses to cut state government. He also refuses to make the state more friendly to new industries, manufacturers, and businesses. SEIU supports Quinn’s tax increases. SEIU represents many state workers. Talk about conflicts of interest harmful to the people.
Shady governors? Quinn never questioned the credentials of former Illinois State Representative and Committeeman Jimmy Deleo. The man who made Rod Blagojevich and Rahm Emanuel US Congressmen. DeLeo is an associate or member of organized crime; depending on who you believe.
Shady governors? Quinn’s top campaign donors are personal injury and medical malpractice attorneys. No tort reform in Illinois anytime soon. Conflict of interest?
Shady governors? Quinn is supported by the teachers unions. They pay him money too. No education reform in Illinois anytime soon. Conflict of interest?
Shady governors? Quinn pushed a capital improvement program the state cannot afford. The beneficiaries are the same contractors and unions that always profit from the state and always contribute big money to candidates. Conflict of interest?
Shady governors? Quinn is part and parcel of the Democratic Machine. He will do their bidding- always.
Pat Quinn is a shady governor. He is a hypocrite. He is reckless, irresponsible, dishonest, and, ethically and morally challenged. Just because he can fall into a sewer and come out wearing a brown suit does nothing to deodorize the reek and stench of corruption emanating from him.
Pat Quinn is right. Illinois does not need another shady governor in Illinois. He should resign.
