Moving on with Destination X, fans saw the return of the Ultimate X match. The winners of this match between Generation Me (Jeremy & Max Buck) and The Motor City Machine Guns (Chris Sabin & Alex Shelley) would become the #1 Contenders for the TNA World Tag Team Championship.
As expected, this was an extremely fast-paced, high-impact match. Before anybody could blink, this match spilled onto the outside. Mike Tenay made mention during the match that Chris Sabin was in the first ever Ultimate X match, and in the second match he won his first X-Division Championship.
Generation Me hit several double team moves once they got the advantage, but every time they got close to taking down the X hanging above the ring, the Machine Guns were able to stop them just short of it. The crowd was in this match from start to finish, trading off chants back and forth for both teams. As Jeremy was going to grab the X, Chris Sabin jumped off Max’s back and speared Jeremy off the cable and they both crashed to the mat.
At one point, all four guys were on the cables within reach of victory. Nobody could get the X, and proceeded to deliver a series of double-team moves on each other. Jeremy and Sabin got to the middle of the cables, but Jeremy slipped off the cables, allowing Sabin to capture the X and making MCMG the #1 Contenders to the TNA Tag Team Titles.
