Here is a little about some of the cool stuff going on for your pups this month.
When: Saturday, March 6 from 8:00AM – 11:00 AM
Where: The AT&T Center
What: The walk opens at 8:00AM and steps out at 9:30AM. This event is a perfect way to bond with your dog while supporting a great cause. The Humane Society of San Antonio will be holding adoptions throughout the walk. If you don’t have a canine in your life, this is a great opportunity to find one. The walk is open to anyone looking to get some exercise for themselves and their pups. There will be both 1 mile and 5K routes. Come out, bring your pup, and support MS as well as the Humane Society of San Antonio.
You can visit the official website for Walk MS San Antonio for more information on registration, which is free for dogs and owners.
Spay and Neuter Assistance Program
Starting on Saturday, March 20th, the SNAP Wellness Clinic (located in the Ingram Park shopping center) will now be offering “Wellness Hours” every 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month. Hours are from 10:00AM until 4:00PM. Walk-ins are welcome and no appointment is necessary. Please be aware that these services are available to spayed and neutered pets only.
If you haven’t had your dog spayed or neutered, the clinic does also offer these surgeries, but by appointment only. You can call (210) 673-7722 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to set up an appointment.
SNAP also provides a mobile clinic that will be making seven stops this month. Visit SNAP’s Mobile Clinic website for locations, times, and more information. They will be providing low-cost spay and neutering. Services may be free for those who qualify. You can also find information about pre-surgery instructions on the website.
SAPPY Pet Loss and Grief Support Group
When: Every 4th Tuesday of the month (March 23rd, for this month) from 6:30PM-8:00PM
Where: The English Tea Shoppe, 6877 Bandera Rd.
What: Anyone who has had a pet in their life has likely also experienced the grief of losing a furry companion. To some of us, our dogs are like family and losing them can be devastating. If you find yourself having a hard time coping with the loss of your pet and need someone to talk to, this is the place. The people in this group know what you’re going through and talking about it can help. For more information on the group and it’s meetings, call (210) 216-0920
