Roughly three weeks ago according to a Seaworld Orlando employee, Seaworld raised their prices on the Skytower for platinum pass holders for a ride that used to be free. Seaworld Orlando has now lowered the price of the Skytower to free again, according to Lance Hart from Screamscape.
Spring break really went into full swing about three weeks ago and slowly faded out this past week. Rumors indicate Seaworld will raise the price of the Skytower again, right before summer begins.
It is a possibility for Seaworld to have raised their prices at the Skytower to keep lines short during busier times of the year. Spring Break and Summer are great examples of busy times.
The Skytower has a great bird’s eye view of the park, but it is also a great place to relax and escape from Florida’s heat.
While other theme parks are known to raise their prices during busier times of the year to make a larger profit and also keep lines short, is Seaworld following suit? It is very possible that Seaworld is not raising their prices to increase their profit margin, even though it appears to be just that, but keep the platinum pass holders from gumming up the lines. Some guests visiting Seaworld Orlando only have one day to experience Seaworld in full as they may have a full schedule for their vacation. Platinum pass holders have all year to relax and enjoy the view the Skytower has to offer.
