It was the perfect day to adopt a pup at the Kiehl’s and Muttville event on Fillmore. This Saturday, complete with a generous $500 donation from Kiehl’s to the Muttvile Senior Dog Rescue organization, the historically famous apothecary and skincare store boasted heavy traffic and even heavier “ooh’s and ah’s” as Mutville doggies took center stage in hopes to be adopted into a loving home.
Don’t forget that the offer for a free Creme de la Corps or Spray and Play Cleansing Spritz will be given to every person who donates $10+ to the Muttville organization will be available until the 13th of this month. For direction to the Kiehl’s of 1851 Store click here!
Tables were decorated with dog biscuits, cupcakes and cookies were available for the attendees, and rescue dogs in every size and color showed up at the event wearing “adopt me” vests and blue and pink doggy-sized “Mutville” t-shirts. Each marvelous mutt was extremely friendly and oozing their own original canine cuteness. We were able to get up close and personal with some of the mutts, ask the volunteers and foster parents a few questions, and catch a couple of our own shots of these extremely photogenic and furry loves.
To adopt them, every interested individual or family must go through a simple process to ensure that the dog and home is a perfect match. If you are interested in any of these adorable cuties, read and fill out the adoption application online at Muttville.org. ADOPT DON’T SHOP!
Misty (Who’s name will be changed due to the number of Mistys’ currently in foster) is an extremely gentle and quiet creature. She is an Aussie/Shepherd mix, with a hearing impairment, doesn’t bark and is completely house trained. Enjoys the indoors but is also great on a leash. She let us give her a belly rub and leaned her head back oh-so sweetly with an expressiion of her most sincere thanks.

Bounce and Shelby (Two little ladies to be adopted together!) are the cutest, teeniest and sweetest little pair of pomeranians we’ve ever seen! Nine year old, Bounce, who is white, and seven year old Shelby who is brown and white, are also fully aware of how adorable they are – eating up the limelight by posing for some of the most pup-tastic pictures our camera would catch that day! Serious cute alert! Be sure to look at their portfolio ready pics in my slideshow below.
Oscar (Oscar Wild on the website) was the most eccentric and scruffiest little guy at the store. Perfectly friendly, and happy to mingle, Oscar loves to go for walks and stroll about town. With his bright eyes and the cutest little tail and feet, he is definitely a show stopper.
Scrabble, a cockerspaniel and pekingese mix, is an utter love. He was extremely friendly and up for lots of cuddling. We were told that he is completely house-trained, loves to ride in the car and likes to sleep more than exercise. An adult only household would benefit this gentle guy, To see more pics of Scrabble be sure to look at our slideshow below.
Chloe is a ten year old cockerspaniel who is fully house-trained and loves to go for walks. She has the softest, silkiest coat of fur – ever! – and is a real beauty. The cutest little face and was definitely one of the most popular pups of the day. So much so that we could only sneak in a couple of candid shots in the crowd.
Thank you to everyone that stopped by and donated! Your activism is much appreciated.
