Where can you go to see lots of sea life, mountains capped with snow, and a beautiful city skyline? Jericho Beach. Whether you’re in town visiting or live in the city, this is a wonderful place for an adventure.
Yesterday, March 20 marked the first day of spring. Vancouver is alive with the sound of birds, budding flowers, and the smells of the sun and rain. Even with the graffitti and sometimes deserted look, Jericho beach has it’s treasures.
Jericho Beach features:
•On the Seaside Seawall system
•Concession (east section of beach)
•Vancouver Youth Hostel
•Jericho Sailing Centre
•Lifeguard Victoria Day (late May) to Labour Day (early September)
The wildlife and marine life you just may see are bald eagles, herons, cormorants, tufted puffins, snowgeese, ducks and swans. There are clams and crabs of all sorts and the purple starfish are a sight to see. Sometimes your lucky to find something you have never seen before.
Jericho Beach is located Between North ends of Wallace and Discovery Streets. It is west of the seaside neighborhood of Kitsilano.
