Nestled among a block of shops in Tacoma’s Proctor District, you’ll find the North End Tavern, but blink and you’ll miss it. This tavern is truly a hole in the wall, but seems to attract loyal followers on a daily basis.
North End offers half price appetizers during happy hour. Expect to find the standard deep-fried bar fare. For a change of pace, they offer Taco Tuesday, starting at noon. That is the earliest I have seen it anywhere!
Not much to speak of here, just 25-cents off beer. The good news is there are a plethora of beers to choose from, along with plenty of wines for the wine lover.
Only one bartender to service the entire place, and she seemed a little flustered, when the place was only a third full. Even though she was busy, she was still very pleasant.
North End is a classic, divey, hole in the wall. With walls covered in beer paraphernalia, you’ll find battered tables, and bar stools that are incredibly uncomfortable. You won’t find ambiance here, but you will find friendly people and cold beer.
Happy Hour Rating ååå
A decent place to grab a cold beer but their happy hour could improve with better drink specials. Happy hour is served up every day from 2-6pm.
