So it is that time of year again… When we dig out those sundresses, skirts, and tees in hope of a warm summer looming in the distance. Many of us hold on to clothes like they are part of us, but sometimes we just need to LET GO.
The rule of thumb is if you haven’t worn it in a year, toss it or donate it. There are so many national organizations that take used clothing and distribute it to those who are less fortunate. The feeling after doing this is fabulous because you are helping others and your closet.
Try everything on that comes out of storage or the back of your closet. Make sure it fits, the key to being stylish and confident is proper fit. So whether you have lost or gained weight, you need to dress accordingly. A too tight mini will only make you look bigger and a sundress with tent like proportions will drown you.
Also pay attention to wear. If you see little bits of raised fabrics then that means you have worn this item down and it needs to go ! Color is a dead giveaway as well. Most dark colors like black, navy, and purple do not hold their tone well. This is why no matter what time of year, you should use color friendly detergent, especially one for your darks.
