With every loss, ping-pong balls continue to add up for the Philadelphia 76ers.
Now, with so many bad teams, they won’t have as many as maybe could have in a different season. The Sixers have only 24 victories, and they will be in the mix for a top draft pick if the ping-pong balls bounce their way at the NBA Lottery.
The Sixers need help. That much is obvious.
Philadelphia was bounced 98-84 by a Chicago Bulls team that entered Saturday on a 10-game losing streak. It didn’t look that way as the Bulls dominated from beginning to end.
Andre Iguodala and Elton Brand spent the majority of the fourth quarter on the bench.
In fact, Iguodala has really struggled. He is 1-for-26 from 3-point territory over his last eight games. Iguodala hasn’t hit a 3-pointer since March 12. … Not good. Not at all.
The popular idea is to fire coach Eddie Jordan. That will probably happen anyway once the season ends.
The Sixers have 11 home wins. ELEVEN. You can’t have 11 home wins at this stage of the season.
Only the Minnesota Timberwolves (nine) and New Jersey Nets (three) have fewer home wins.
This once-proud franchise is careening quickly. It will land them in the lottery, which is good.
What they do from there is even more important.
