Nevada Senator John Ensign (R-NV) unites with Senate Republicans by signing letter in opposition for Wall Street reforms that have been proposed by Democrats. All 41 Republican Senators have signed the letter.
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) personally met with Wall Street CEO’s and Hedge Fund managers and promised them that he will fight President Obama’s attempt to regulate their industry which was the direct cause for the economic crisis that sent the United States and the global economies into tailspin in 2008.
A recent Pew Research Poll shows that the vast majority of Americans want MORE regulations for Wall Street, but the Republicans in the Senate see the passage of regulations as a win for Democrats, which could help Democrats in this Novembers election so they once again are playing politics with America‘s tax dollars. As usual, the Republican “Party of No” would rather see Wall Street continue to do business as they have in the past and continue to jeopardize our economy.
Part of the Democrats proposed regulations would end tax payer bailouts for Wall Street and create a fund that is 100 percent paid for by financial institutions to be used to bail themselves out. But Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell stood on the Senate floor last week and misrepresented that part of the proposed regulations and implied that tax payers would still be on the hook, which is a 100 percent LIE.
Nevada Senator John Ensign will be out of office when his term ends in 2012 because of his Sexcapades for sleeping with one of his staff workers Cindy Hampton, whose husband Ensign also employed.
Ensign is currently facing an ethics investigation by the Senate Ethics Committee as well as an investigation by the Department of Justice for breaking federal lobby laws with Doug Hampton, the husband of the woman he was sleeping with.
Ensign doesn’t care about Nevada voters or any other voter for that matter outside of his personal family, he votes against any Bill that could possibly help Nevadan’s. He has voted against every Jobs Bill, he has voted against Unemployment extensions and extensions for COBRA, he even voted against a rape victims right to peruse their rapist in court.
Senator John Ensign refuses to resign, his actions have caused many who had been associated with him in his public and private life to receive federal subpoenas related to the two investigations. John Ensign is bad for Nevada and bad for America and he should resign for all the shame he has brought to his family, his friends and to the Great State of Nevada. But he won’t because he’s selfish and doesn’t care about anyone but himself.
