Virender Sehwag was ruled out of playing for India in the forthcoming edition of the ICC World T20 after he was diagnosed with a shoulder injury. Sehwag will be replaced by Chennai Super Kings’ opening batsman, Murali Vijay.
Sehwag had missed the previous edition of the ICC World Cup in 2009 thanks to the same shoulder injury. But what has caused much concern to the media and the fans of the country is when he was fit enough to play all 14 matches of the IPL, with the last game being only 3 days back, then when did he get injured all of a sudden.
There are speculations that the batsman was carrying some sort of a niggle through the entire duration of the tournament, but did not reveal it, with accusations from quarters talking of Sehwag hiding his injury to play in the IPL.
The speculations have been fuelled by the fact that there was no explanation forthcoming, either by the BCCI or the player about the cause of the injury.
