March 21, 2010 – Seattle Police say that speed and alcohol may have been factors in a head-on collision that killed one driver in West Seattle and injured two others.
According to Seattle Police, the driver of a Suburban SUV heading eastbound on the 3700 block of Admiral Way SW lost control and collided with a westbound truck at about 2 a.m. Sunday.
The driver of the SUV was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver and passenger of the truck were treated by Seattle Fire Department medics and then transported to Harborview Medical Center with serious injuries.
One of the victims is a 29-year old man who got out of one of the vehicles on his own.
Police are investigating whether speed or alcohol might have been factors in the crash. It was reported that at least one of the vehicles was speeding.
Admiral Way Southwest was blocked for hours while investigators reconstructed the crash.
The road has since reopened.
