“There are more sure marks of authenticity in the Bible than in any profane history.” – Sir Isaac Newton.
If the Bible is, in fact, words penned by various authors, in various times and various locations, but all under direct inspiration of God’s Spirit, it would follow that any true science or unbiased archeology will do nothing but verify the veracity of its truths.

The following are some of the scientific discoveries that bare this out:
The earth hangs on nothing. Early civilizations had all kinds of ways to explain how the Earth sat in the universe; take Atlas holding it on his shoulders for example. In Job 26:7, Job talks about how the earth hangs on nothing.
The world is round. In Isaiah 40:22 the Bible says the world is round. For centuries we believed that the Earth was flat. We now know, it is not flat but nearly perfectly round. It is said that this Scripture strengthened Columbus’ confidence that the earth was round in his exploration and discovery of America in 1492.
Valleys in the seas. The canyons and valleys that cover the ocean floors were unknown to modern man until they were able to deep sea dive to confirm it. Yet 2000 years ago, in 2 Samuel 22:16, Moses talks about the valleys in the seas.
The number of stars cannot be counted. Early astronomers believed that the number of stars could be counted and that they numbered around 1,100 in total. The bible talks about the counting of the stars being impossible in Jeremiah 33:22 and Genesis 15:5.
Every star is different. Early astronomers also believed that all of the stars were identical but were once again proven wrong when technology showed that each star was unique and different. The bible states that in I Corinthians 15:41.
Winds blow in a circular motion. While it was believed for quite some time in early civilizations that the wind blew in a straight line, the Bible stated that it blew in cyclones as seen in Ecclesiastes 1:6. Of course, we now know that the wind does indeed blow in circular motions.
Air has weight. It was long thought that air had no weight. However, the Bible says in Job 28:25 that it can be measured which indicates that air has weight. Science has taught us that air does have weight and can be measured.
Blood is vital for life and health. Although medical science has gone in many directions concerning blood and its purpose, it is now known that blood is vital. Without it we will die. Leviticus 17:11 states that life is in the blood.
The Earth goes around the sun. While even early astronomers believed that the Earth revolved around the sun, the Bible confirmed this in Psalm 19:1-6 and Joshua 10:12-14.
Gravity. While the Bible does not come right out and state that gravity exists, it does provide proof in Ecclesiastes 1:7 and Isaiah 55:10.
Emotional effect on health. Long before there were psychiatrists, the Bible talked about how important emotional health was on physical health. Several verses in Proverbs provide this: Proverbs 15:30, Proverbs 16:24, andProverbs 17:22.
Cycle of evaporation, condensation, and precipitation. Job 36:27-29 and Ecclesiastes 1:6-7 both discuss this.
Sanitation and spread of disease by contact. Leviticus 13:45-46 and 15:13 state that contagious disease can be spread by close contact. Numbers 19 and Deuteronomy 23:12-13 talks about washing to be clean and the importance of sanitation. While this was not something that was widely held as truth in the early days of medicine, we now know how important both are to know and practice.
There have always been skeptics. Voltaire (the famous philosopher and skeptic of the 17th century) declared that the Bible was obsolete and predicted the extinction of Christianity in his generation. 100 years later the American Bible Society bought his estate to be used as a base from which to distribute Bibles throughout

On the other hand, many wise and powerful men have embraced the Holy Scriptures value. The following are a few.
John Quincy Adams said: “So great is my veneration for the Bible that the earlier my children begin to read it the more confident will be my hope that they will prove useful citizens of their country and respectable members of society. I have for many years made it a practice to read through the Bible once a year.”
Patrick Henry said: The Bible is worth all other books which have ever been printed.
Charles Dickens said: “The New Testament is the very best book that ever was or ever will be known in the world.”
Horace Greeley said: It is impossible to enslave mentally or socially a Bible-reading people. The principles of the Bible are the groundwork of human freedom.
U.S. Grant said: The Bible is the sheet-anchor of our liberties.
