Each summer, the Wolf Trap Foundation and the National Park Service sponsor Children’s Theatre-in-the-Woods, “a much-loved series that enables families to spend the summer months introducing children to the thrill of live performance”.
Seventy family-oriented performances take place from late June through early August; two shows are offered on each performance day. Set in a cool and shaded glen on 117 wooded acres, the Children’s Theatre-in-the-Woods “stage is set for lively adventures in music, dance, storytelling, puppetry, and theater.” Performances are recommended for children in Kindergarten through sixth grade.
Required for all adults and children attending performances, tickets are $8 for one performance or $10 for two on the same day. Tickets for this summer’s schedule of shows can be purchased online at tickets.com, by calling 1(877)WOLFTRAP, or at the Filene Center Box Office. Because shows sell out quickly, Theater-in-the-Woods organizers encourage families to purchase tickets in advance.
