Remember the psychotic reporter Roger Friedman from Fox News. During his tenure at Fox News, Mr. Friedman was accused of being paid money by people like Harvey Weinstein and Mariah Carey to promote their products while giving horrible publicity to their competition. Last year, he decided to review a pirated version–from his own company–of the film Wolverine. He bragged about how easy it was to download illegal films. Fox News fired him instantly.
Many were surprised that Roger Friedman actually found work at the Hollywood Reporter, a trade magazine that usually has reputable stories. Mr. Friedman’s stories–even though they weren’t as visible as ones on Fox News–drew continued criticism. He continued his vile, factually challenged articles and continued to draw many Internet complaints.
He may have done himself in this week by reporting allegations of a link between Christie Allie’s Organic Liaison weight-loss system and the Church of Scientology, of which she’s a member. The allegations have been proven to be simply false.
Until yesterday, Mr. Friedman’s Showbiz411 blog was listed as “On Haitus” at thr.com, while Roger was writing on his own WordPress blog. The “On Haitus” sign is off, but Roger is still working on his own WordPress blog. This could mean that Roger has been blogging on his own because of technical problems with The Hollywood Reporter.
Roger Friedman is a horrible, vile, hate-filled person whose reporting can’t even sustain the level of the National Enquirer. Any organization that hires him is truly pathetic. Let’s hope Eric Mika, the publisher of the Hollywood Reporter, has finally realized this.
