As always a great new show at GuerillaArts. Mark this one on your calenders and make sure not to miss it.
More images to come to preview this show. This little art center is really one of the best, if not the best, place to see real art that you will almost never see anywhere in Dallas. So again DO NOT miss this show.

Next Friday, April 30th, GuerillaArts will be opening “Fountainhead” a smattering of works by Dallas based artist Patrick Short. We are proud to host this artist’s first solo show of his work out of a university setting.
Patrick Short’s work is largely sculpture and drawing based and accented with forays into light and sound installation and viewer interactivity. His large pieces fill the gallery space at GuerillaArts and are meant to fabricate very separate and distinct sensory experiences for viewers through sight, sound and touch.
Says Short about his work:
“I deal with the concept of human and animal monogamy in a very technically formal, kind of minimalist way. I explore these relationships by personifying very inhuman and sterile shapes and objects. Whether it’s a simple concept of opposites attracting or as complex and unhealthy as the concept of addiction, I take the core idea of making two objects where the existence of one justifies and effects the existence of the other. Aesthetically, I love construction materials; sheetrock, raw wood, damaged plywood, concrete and the surprises inherent in working with each. Fabricating a calculated, creative response to the kinds of tactile and visual challenges characteristic of the media in which I work keeps me constantly entertained.”
Please join us for what is sure to be a fantastic and immersive opening reception on Friday, April 30th from 7-9pm, and as always BRING YOUR FRIENDS!
