Travelers and adventurers romanticize space travel as “the final frontier” and a trip to Florida’s space center can be a dream come true for those who like to explore. It is worlds apart from Orlando’s fast paced theme parks – but just a short drive away from the other Florida attractions. You should plan on a full day to explore NASA Kennedy Space Center and launch headquarters, surprisingly located on a large wildlife refuge so watch for alligators.
Here you see for yourself many of mankind’s greatest scientific accomplishments and get the unique chance to tour NASA’s launch and landing facilities. You can also experience the interactive simulators, enjoy live shows and have eye-popping encounters with massive rockets. You can even meet a veteran NASA astronaut or be there when the next shuttle launch is scheduled.
Next Launch Event:
Shuttle Discovery • STS-131
Date: April 5
Time: 6:21 a.m. ET
Location: LC-39A, Kennedy Space Center, Florida
This is a transport by the Space shuttle Discovery to take a Multi-Purpose Logistics Module to the International Space Station. The module will be filled with science racks that will be transferred to laboratories on the Station.
