Myrna’s Mediterranean Bistro isn’t the new kid on the Stamford dining block, but it was the first of its kind to hit the streets in 2002. And now, with so many dining establishments in Fairfield County setting up shop while others are forced to close their doors, Myrna’s has done an excellent job of standing out in the crowd and setting the quality bar to a height which others should strive for.
Myrna’s, a family owned restaurant serving authentic Lebanese cuisine, is no flash in the frying pan. They’ve been going strong for eight years and show no signs of slowing. A few of their accolades and awards include: Best of Fairfield County in 2008 and 2009; Best of Stamford 2008; “Best Tasting” at Taste of Stamford in 2007 and 2008.
Owner Myrna Yanni believes in using fresh and wholesome ingredients in her dishes, and that healthy approach is reflected in the divine flavors that combine to create the perfect meal.
Chef Joseph Jabbour has been preparing international fare for forty-five years, and it’s the plates that come out of his kitchen that can set a positive tone for any night of dining out. There’s something at Myrna’s for vegetarians and meat lovers alike, from the shankleesh with feta cheese, tomato, onion, parsley, thyme and extra virgin olive oil that possess the perfect balance of flavors to a heartbreakingly tender portion of lamb shish kebab that is a luscious taste sensation. The menu is a palate pleaser for even the most discriminating of tastes.
As if an excellent dining experience were not enough, January 2010 saw the grand opening of Myrna’s Mediterranean Market located inside the restaurant. The Market sells high quality authentic specialty items and offers a wide selection such as Arabic tea and coffee, olive oil, spices, cheese and much more. Myrna’s is the place to visit for those extraordinary ingredients that you won’t find anywhere else.
