The BFA-St. Albans softball team led 1-0 until two outs in the bottom of the sixth inning when Missisquoi plated three runs to secure a 3-1 win the season-opening game for both teams.
Abby Coon and Stephanie Sylvester had RBI hits in the winning rally which made a winner out of relief pitcher Katie Gagne, who worked the final 1-1/3 innings, striking out two. Freshman Sommer Libbey was impressive in her debut for the T-Birds, fanning nine and allowing just a single run in the third inning.
Danielle Lang and Erika Gravelin both stroked two doubles for BFA (0-1). Chelsea Abbott took the loss for BFA-St. Albans, striking out eight.
