MOMS is an online marriage index of Minnesota marriages from all 87 counties and was developed and maintained by the Minnesota county recorders. Search results show the county that maintains the record, the certificate number, date of marriage, groom and bride’s names and a link to order a copy online. A marriage certificate can then be ordered for a fee. Some counties also offer an express processing for an additional fee. A list of counties with their index dates is available here.
The site is about 80 percent complete, with some counties continuing to add data on a regular basis. I was able to find a number of marriages for research I am doing, but there were a number of marriages that are missing, including my own in Ramsey County.
Adding this to free online resources available for Minnesota vital records is great. The Minnesota Historical Society website which has birth and death records for selected years makes searching from home for vital records faster.
