New Washington state resident Matt Brown is rumored to be fighting Chris “Lights out” Lytle on UFC 116 which is currently scheduled for July 3rd in Las Vegas. Brown is coming off of a tough loss against Ricardo Almeida at UFC 111 which aired live on Spike. Chris Lytle is coming off of an impressive submission of the night fight in Australia against Brian Foster at UFC 110. Chris earned an extra $50,000 for his win.
Matt recently moved to Kirkland from his Las Vegas home in order to be close to his gym, AMC. He is also expecting a child soon with his girlfriend and thought that the Seattle area would be more beneficial to raising a child than sin city.
This fight promises to be fireworks, but it’s not the first time they have met. Back in 2007, the two fought in the UFL where Chris won by submission. This was Brown’s last non-UFC fight before he headed to the Ultimate Fighter and then onto what has been a largely successful career in the UFC.
UFC 116 is rumored to be headlined by Shane Carwin vs Brock Lesnar for the UFC Heavyweight title.
Matt joined MMA Scraps Radio a couple of weeks ago to talk about his move to Seattle as well as his (then upcoming) fight with Ricardo.
