Your pet could be a star if you enter your short films, home videos, documentaries, or even music videos in the SPCA of Texas Pet Flix FIlm Festival. Cash prizes are $ 1,500 for best overall picture, and $ 250 each for best long tail (5 to 10 minutes) and best short tail (less than 5 minutes). Pet Flix is sponsored by VCA Animal Hospitals and benefits the homeless animals at the SPCA of Texas.
Winning videos will be chosen by a panel of celebrity judges and will premiere at Pet Flix 2010, June 6th at Studio Movie Grill, 11170 N. Central Expressway at Royal Lane in Dallas. Tickets for Pet Flix 2010 are $15 and are on sale now.
Anyone can enter a pet video in virtually any genre, as long as your film runs no longer than 10 minutes, you created it in 2007 or after, and you can guarantee no animals were harmed in the making of the video. Entry fees are $10 now, but increase to $15 beginning May 3rd. Remember, the deadline to enter your video in the Pet Flix Film Festival is May 7.
