March Madness is here along with the official mark of spring. Whether you are talking basketball, health care reform, flooding or snow these first days of spring, the madness is all around.
Your madness may be resulting from intense enthusiasm over the games or some other subject dear to your heart. It may also be that you are in the state of being mad over a big issue or tiny inconvenience.
Madness happens because you allow yourself to open up and share your feelings over something you really care about. You really can’t get enough information about the item you are so diligently following.
Being mad happens because you see a topic in a very different way than others. Some of us are visionaries and can see that if one thing happens now, it will lead worse things in the future. Some of us can see that if a certain thing happens, it may help some, but it will not help you in any way. This is why we get mad over certain topics.
Some fits of being mad maybe a simple intrusion into your personal plans. Getting mad over this helps you to state aloud your objections and hopefully move on quickly. Other fits of being mad are bigger issues that will either prevent your long-term plans or make you abide by rules you deem unnecessary. These issues usually take a little longer to get over because you have to accept and create a whole new plan.
Whatever the cause of your madness, you need to give yourself a little peace and quiet so you can evaluate. Give yourself the opportunity to think about the subject or change and determine why it upsets you. As you work through the issue, you will begin to understand the root of your madness. Once identified, you will be able to make new decisions or plans that work with the new circumstances.
Notes of Thought:
• Determine if the issue is worth the bad feelings you will carry with you
• Evaluate to see what is really bothering you
• Think about what will actually hurt you by the change
• Let yourself be happy if the circumstance helps a number of other people
• Come to terms with the change and allow yourself to accept as it may be a future blessing you cannot see yet
Whatever creates your madness whenever it happens, prepare yourself to evaluate, accept or at the very least release the anger over it so you do not carry those bad feelings around forever.
