You are going on a date, but not just any date! It’s the first one. Obviously you’re probably getting a few butterflies about what you’re going to discuss…but what about what you’ll wear? Looking nice and appropriate are two things that can get you started in the right direction. After all, let’s face it…your date is going to be interested in you on a mental level as well as a physical level.
General things to keep in mind while planning an outfit:
– Keep the low cut and the high cut things strictly for the clubs!
-Don’t wear anything that is going to cause discomfort
-Avoid bright colors, chaotic patterns, and just anything that can be distracting.
Here are three looks that are sure to make a great impression on your date. Even if you aren’t going on a first date, these are great outfits to wear if you want to look nice just for the hell of it.
This is a more playful outfit and it definitely captures a sort of carefree California style. I did not include a blazer or a sweater, but that would make a great addition if you chose to do so. This is perfect if you have your heart set on wearing jeans for the date, but don’t want to look too casual. I kept it girly by adding some soft pink accents and left the purse neutral.

I designed this look with some of the very common trends in mind. A lot of girls generally have a tunic, boots, and a pair of leggings in their wardrobe. This is an ideal outfit to wear if you’re torn between wearing a dress/skirt or jeans. And if you don’t know where you will be going with your date, like how fancy the restaurant is, this is still an outfit that can cater to many different atmospheres. It reminds me of something a futuristic hippie might wear.

If you are looking for a more polished outfit this is a good option. I included a pair of heels with the outfit, but if you don’t feel up to wearing heels for whatever reason flats can also work for this look too. Since this look was inspired by the fashion of the 1950s I decided to play along with that by adding a cardigan, faux pearl jewelry, and an adorable envelope clutch. I added these particular earrings because they gave a bit of a modern twist.
