Many cat owners may overlook the need for regular veterinary check ups for their pet. They assume that, since they are an indoor cat, they do not need to worry about rabis shots, deworming, flea repellent, among other things.
However, what pet owners need to know is that a regular checkup and vaccinations for your cat is essential to keeping Fluffy healthy for many years to come.
Also, there are those ‘what-ifs’ that we need to consider. What if your cat accidentally got outside even for a few minutes? It only takes a few minutes for them to come into contact with another animal that may or may not have rabis, fleas, ticks, worms and other things that could make your little Fluffy very sick.
By taking your pet to a local veterinary hospital like the Springfield Veterinary Center (located at 3322 South Campbell Suite U here in Springfield) they can look your cat over, get him/her the up to date on vaccinations and treatments, and they can check for anything that could be a worry later in life.
When taking on the responsibility of being a pet owner, you must consider it as you would a child. Pets rely on their owners to get them the much needed medical help they deserve.
