Despite endless criticism from the media and even some of her fans, Kate Gosselin will remain on television regardless of her fate on “Dancing with the Stars.” The mother of eight, who is receiving low marks from the judges on DWTS, will soon be seen in a new TLC show called “Twist of Kate.” The series will feature Gosselin traveling the country to interact with ordinary American families while learning how they cope with and overcome the hardships they encounter.
“In each episode, she’ll walk a mile in someone else’s shoes — meeting real families in the middle of their own extraordinary challenges,” said the network in a statement.
“She’ll try out their jobs…see how their home life runs…see what they’re up against…and find out what they do to let off steam. As Kate gets to know them she’ll roll up her sleeves and see what she can do to help.”
Speaking to USA Today, Gosselin said she’s up for the challenge despite acknowledging that she’s not an “expert.”
“I look at it as a loose concept,” Gosselin said. “I want to be out there learning from others, helping to provide insight whenever I can, though I don’t consider myself an expert on anything.”
TLC also announced that special episodes of “Kate Plus 8” will return in June. The series will focus on Kate’s life as a single mom.
