Jessica for Addition Elle
Hailing from Guelph Ontario, Jessica has made Toronto her home. After her success on Canada’s project runway, Biffi accredits much of her success to the show.
“It opened a lot of doors for me, and really launched my career,” said Biffi. “Fashion is a really difficult industry to get into, and it allowed me access to a world I was not in before.”
Claiming the Project Runway experience as life changing, it is no doubt Biffi has been introduced to an influx of industry networking.
“I’ve made a lot of friends and countless connections from being on the series,” said Biffi. “In so many ways it has been the most rewarding experience I’ve ever had. It really has changed my life.”
On Inspirations: “Alexander McQueen was a master. He was a visionary. He brought to the world the concept of art in fashion. I loved the drama and theatrics he brought to his shows. The way he saw his vision and how it was a full-body experience of all the senses. He as a designer made me want to strive to be more, and want to be better. It breaks my heart that he is no longer with us. A talent like his are few and far between.”
On Lady Gaga: “I love her. She is a little crazy, but I think that makes me love her more. She doesn’t care what you or I think, and that is amazing. She does what she wants and that is refreshing in a cookie-cutter pop star world. I would love to make something ridiculous for her to wear one day.”
On sex appeal: “To me sexuality and confidence go hand-in-hand. When a woman feels her best and sexy she feels powerful. Sexuality is very empowering, it gives you that extra stride in your step and makes you feel like you can do anything.”
Her personal style: “I would say I’ve changed a lot over the last year, but my personal style is youthful and urban. I love colour, and I love having fun with pieces and mixing things together. I’m anywhere from gold high top sneakers to cute little black dresses and skinny jeans with slouchy black sweaters. I love fashion and I play with my personal style to keep it fun.”
