Bounty Hunter co-stars Jennifer Aniston and Gerard Butler say what’s seen on-screen in their new flick is basically what happens behind the scenes. There’s no romance, no good Hollywood drama and anything more is just speculation – For now.
“There was no kind of pretension,” the 41-year-old Aniston said of her on-screen relationship with Butler. She told BBC News at The Bounty Hunter’s London premiere the acting duo just “clicked” saying, “We were instantly like, ‘Yeah, I like you!'”
Butler, 40, has also shrugged off romance rumors but didn’t deny the incredible chemistry between the two. Of Aniston, the Law Abiding Citizen star said he can understand why people want to see the two of them together and happily involved.
“People love her; she’s sexy. She’s beautiful. My friends hate me that I get to [work with her], and they don’t,” he said in an interview with W Magazine, where Aniston and Butler are featured on the cover. In an another pre-film interview with People.com, Butler readdressed the same question: Is the couple in love?
“We have a natural chemistry,” Butler said referring to their W Magazine cover photo (see below). “You can see it in our magazine shoot and the film, we have a great time together.” He also added that while he gets Jennifer Aniston’s sex appeal, he looks at her like part of the family.

“I literally became a member of her family,” he said. “I went down for her birthday in Mexico. Of course, everyone takes that as something else, but we are very good friends.” And he doesn’t want to lose that.
When the USA Today approached the topic with the Scottish lad at the New York premiere of The Bounty Hunter, Gerard said he’s sure people will continue to speculate and doesn’t expect that to end just because they are done filming.
“It will never be over,” he said. “If Jen remains my friend, which I hope she will, anytime we would ever hang out in any way will be us dating again.” But isn’t it true they say the best lovers make the best friends? Maybe so, maybe not for Aniston and Butler.
During the fall of 2009, Aniston aired her “dating rules” to celebrity yoga instructor Mandy Ingber and said she could sum up her dream pretty quick. According to OK! Magazine, Aniston thinks of her perfect guy as “being over 40”, not having any kids and being emotionally and financially stable – Everything Gerard is. Except one thing. Aniston’s one other piece of criteria? He wouldn’t be an actor…or a musician, says the mag. To stay tuned to more behind-the-scenes, click here to subscribe!
