The first James Avery store in Tennessee is set to open in the Cool Springs Galleria in Summer 2010. James Avery is a jewelry artisan who began crafting precious metal pieces back in 1954 in the Texas Hill Country of Kerrville, Texas. He started his business in a 2 car garage with a small work bench, a few hand tools and scrapes of silver and copper. Today the company has grown to include 5 jewelry workshops in Texas as well as over 40 retails stores located throughout Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Georgia and Colorado. The company also reaches customers through the internet at www.jamesavery.com and mail order. Mr. Avery stepped down as CEO in 2007 and the company is currently under the leadership of his sons Chris serving as CEO/President and Paul as Executive Vice President. Mr. Avery is still involved in the company and actively creating new designs.
A large source of inspiration for James Avery jewelry designs is Christian symbolism. The company maintains some 1100 designs and 14,000 separate jewelry items in the active product line. Each piece is centered around the company’s founding values of simplicity, integrity, meaning and universality. Fine jewelry designs are made in sterling silver, 14K and 18K yellow and white gold and gemstones and are available for men, women and children. Many pieces are engravable. In addition to jewelry there are also gift items such as keychains, money clips, wall plaques, ornaments and bookmarks.
James Avery is also actively involved in national and local organizations supporting corporate and retail communities. Nationally James Avery supports the Boys and Girls Clubs of America. On the local level James Avery support many different organizations such as healthcare and relief, education and development of children, faith based organizations, arts and culture and the environment.
