When operating a business in Miami, there are situations that may call for a replay of what occurred. However, how should you go about it? Well, many business calls are conducted via cell phones and technology is here to assist in legally recording conversations.
Recording calls on a cellular phone can be done on most phones by selecting certain settings. However, this may be confusing and difficult to monitor for any significant length of time. Therefore, you may want to opt for a system that is designed to handle the recording of multiple calls for free. For example, it may be wise to be able to view the recording via email and have it archived for easy retrieval.
Decide whether a system or device will be used. Create or use a Google (Gmail) email account to implement a system. It is free to start and will be required to access a Google Voice account. Input the cell phone number that will be used to initiate the Google Voice account. Provide basic account data, like name and address information. Once this is established, request an invite from Google Voice (See Reference). An alternative is to purchase a device that may cost from $10 to $100 prospectively. It is plugged into a pin-hole on the cell phone where a head set is connected usually. To learn more about options (See Reference).
Start the process of obtaining the system or device of choice. Provide the information to establish a Google Voice account once approved for an account and/or select the device to record calls manually. For Google Voice, the current cell phone number will need to be given, which will serve as one of the methods to receive calls. Select a new virtual phone number to receive calls, which is permanent. Maintain all account information and review all the features included. As for the device purchase, keep the receipt and test it before officially using on a call. This is probably the fastest option to implement using a cell phone without using built in features from the preferences of a particular cell phone brand.
Learn how to record for the selected method. Press #4 to initiate and to end the recording for calls only through the Google Voice virtual phone number assigned. Best of all, there is an announcement to inform you and the caller that the call is being recorded, which is required by in law. The recording is stored in the corresponding Gmail account for viewing and archiving. If you elect to purchase a separate device, it can be activated by pressing record on a tape recorder. You must insert the male adapter from the head set device into your tape recorder. Then continue to use the cell phone. The microphone for the earpiece collects audio from each party’s voice. Each method works great for business or personal use.
