Okay heads up San Diego. Here we go again. Please look at this picture of Marie Faustman, age 15. She has been missing since April 1, 2010. Now the Sheriff is asking for help from the public to bring her home. No word on why the public was not involved immediately.
Marie’s mother dropped her off in El Cajon at Pepper Drive around 7:00 in the morning. The missing girl told her mother she was spending the day with friends. However none of her friends saw her and no family members or any one else has seen her since. Her cell phone was no longer powered up after April 3rd.
Mom is Wendie Faustman and many of us reading this will be sending prayers and thoughts her way hoping for her daughter’s safe return. Take a good look San Diego at Marie’s picture. San Diego does not want to lose another teen.
What can San Diego do? Some communities other than San Diego are using a reverse 911 type Amber Alert System. The minute an Amber Alert is dispatched San Diego residents should be hearing their phone ring with the recorded information about the child missing and possibly the one who took him or her. It was reported in one neighborhood that a system like this caused a man who was abducting a child to change his mind at the last minute.
His change of heart occurred after neighbors came out on lawns looking for the child. Why don’t we have a system like this? Lets add the name King to this article by hoping that her parents and family and friends are some how finding comfort… in hopes that the added search term might inspire someone with some pull in the community to get this system in our county.
