It is the weekend and you have been invited on a trip with some friends to New York. You are enthusiastic about the excursion, but there is one problem. You don’t have any extra money. You’ve put yourself on a budget that does not allow you much pleasure. You look over your bills once again trying to move and juggle your finances. First, most cities or towns have museums or libraries. Libraries are always free. You can frequent them whenever you like and even check out books, videos and DVDs. Second, if you are a movie buff and $12.50 is a bit out of your price range most theaters have hours in the day when you get see a matinee for about half price. Next, if you’d like to go out for a night on the town, there are several clubs that hold a ladies night where admission is free up until a certain hour. Most of the time, ladies night is held during the week, but there are times it is held on the weekend. The best way to find out about these events is to search online, listen to the radio station, or read the Style or Weekend section of any of the many New York Newspapers.
Lastly, going to the park and taking a walk is a good way to have fun. You can also play sports such as tennis, and basketball. You can get into shape while having a good time and it won’t cost you a dime. Planning a small picnic is another way to save money. You can do this instead of eating out, and this is much healthier since you prepare the food yourself.
Going out does not have to be costly. The most important thing is that you have fun with or without money.
