At just nine years old, Jackson Brundage has almost completed his third full season on One Tree Hill as the adorable Jamie Scott. But don’t think this child actor’s role is just for cute bits in the background. Brundage has definitely been challenged for his first job. His character has gone through everything from being kidnapped by psycho nannies and dealing with bullies, to having to grasp with the loss of friends and family. And he’s still managed to give us a few laughs along the way. It seems that no matter what the script brings his way, Brundage handles like a pro. He’s definitely having a blast as the youngest One Tree Hill star as he shared with me his fun times and more at the 2nd Celebrity Autograph Fund-raiser in Wilmington last month.
You have been on One Tree Hill for three years now, what has been the most fun day for you?
Jackson-The funnest day, hmmm. That’s a pretty hard one cause everybody’s really fun, always plays around. It’s a really fun time working with everybody. But the funnest time, I think so far in my three years was probably the ‘Home Alone’ episode.
That was my favorite episode of yours’! Did you have fun running around the house doing whatever you wanted?
Jackson-Yeah, It was pretty cool. That was really fun. It was awesome.
Who is your favorite cast member to work with?
Jackson-Right now, right now, I have to say Rob[Buckley]. I haven’t been working with Sophia[Bush] much, but in season five we were buddies and we played around a lot. I was with her a lot in season five.
(*Rob and Jackson shared with me they both have a special dance they do on set after wrapping a scene together.)
I’ve heard Sophia say how much she loves working with you. You know when I’ve asked so many of the other cast members who they would like to work more with, who they want to have more scenes with, they all say Jackson. Austin Nichols, Shantel VanSanten, Jana Kramer, have all said they want to have more work with you. What does that tell you?
Jackson- Wow! Wow. Maybe because just I’m the kid? (laughs)
What do you want to be when you grow up? I heard you’re quite the basketball player!
Jackson-Yeah, I kind of wanna be pro basketball, pro skateboarder.
