Toddlers are eager to do two things: have fun and learn. Do both with an easy indoor activity to increase hand eye coordination and motor development. Some basic household supplies are all it takes to make a few fun games into valuable learning activities.
- cotton balls or craft poof balls
Toss (or hide) the cotton balls around the room. Pick them up with the tongs and put them in the canister. Next, toss the clothespins around the room. Pick them up and clip them to the opening of the canister. Finally, toss the cotton balls and clothespins around the room. Pick up a clothespin, then pick a cotton ball up with the clothespin and drop that into the canister. The motor skills in these activities help build the muscles used for writing, cutting, and painting – all skills toddlers are eager to master!
