Don’t expect to be informed from the misinformed mainstream media. The mainstream media is no longer an industry. It’s an elite, liberal sorority. This media includes the most ignorant and laziest assembly of people who refuse to report objectively. They can only convey their myopic worldview.
The Tea Parties convening around the country is a prime example. Kelly O’Donnell from NBC covered a Tea Party in Washington D.C and approached a Black man, Darryl Postel. Ms. O’Donnell asked if Mr. Postel were uncomfortable because there weren’t too many African-Americans at the gathering. He firmly responded toO’Donnell saying, “ No, no, these are my people, Americans.”
Ms. O’Donnell ought to roam the halls of NBC headquarters and see their own diversity with white Brian Williams, Rachel Maddow. Keith Olbermann, Chris Matthews, the infamous liar Lawrence O’Donnell and Matt Lauer. These people are whiter than the snowcaps in Aspen. She may spot Lester Holt, the Black weekend anchor, if she’s doing Saturday detail. NBC is hardly one agency to talk about journalism or diversity.
Ms. O’Donnell could’ve accurately reported that Mr. Postel was welcome and comfortable amongst people of like minds. She would be doing her job as a supposed, reputable journalist.
The media is obsessed on convicting the Tea Party as Klansmen. Yet, has Kelly O’Donnell or NBC ever done a story about West Virginia Democrat Senator Robert Byrd, a former Klansman? Absolutely Not! If she really wanted to be considered as a credible reporter, she could spend a month or even a day in an inner-city public school. She could report that the schools are loaded with surveillance cameras and metal detectors? She could expose the failure that these kids, mostly minority kids, are being deprived of an education since many of these schools have 60% dropout rates and less than 10% of the kids are performing at their grade level? Maybe she could ask of few of the kids from these schools if they felt uncomfortable in such a violent setting.
That would require honest reporting which NBC and other media outlets like CNN, CBS and The New York Times forfeited long ago.
