Puyallup, WA – My weekly visit to Puyallup Metro Animal Services lead me to mostly empty kennel runs. Always a great sign!
Two dogs were available for viewing, and one yellow Labrador mix was in the outdoor play area on a stray hold. His photo is available for viewing for anyone who might have lost track of their pet. He was quite friendly!
The first dog available for adoption is a sweet boy named Bingo. Bingo is listed as a young Australian shepherd mix. He was quite friendly and loved to put his paw through the cage to hold hands. He also seemed to thoroughly enjoy having his head patted.
The next dog was aptly named Lonesome. This senior black Labrador mix seemed completely despondent. His paperwork showed that he had been surrendered to the shelter from a nursing home. I can’t imagine how sad it would be to leave the loving daily affection from multiple seniors in a nursing home, to lying on the cement floor in an animal shelter.
Lonesome would love to have a new family to call his own. He must have a wonderful, calm, friendly demeanor if he was able to live in a nursing home environment.
I have to give a quick shout-out to the cats at the shelter too. These affectionate little kitties are incredibly beautiful, and so sweet. A little boy named Muril was particularly sweet – he literally could not get enough attention from anyone willing to share it with him. He was purring non-stop.
Two other little cats were sugar-sweet; Aimee, a lovely tabby, was soaking up the love from fingers offered through her cage-front. Another gorgeous girl by the name of Sister was perfectly content to rub her face back and forth on the cage front while my children tried to pet her as best they could, through the metal bars.
