April 22nd through April 25th Mississippians will be gathered together to celebrate the 18th Annual Crawfish Festival in Biloxi.
Locals will be cooking up over 20,000 pounds of crawfish. Here crawfish are referred to as mudbugs. Many of the recipes being prepared will have a Cajun flare. Those flares have ranges that go from mild to volcanic. From boiling, grilling and even pan frying these southern delicacies will be available to everyone with a Tasting Ticket.
The tasting tickets are available for sale at the festival for only $10. The tasting starts at 1:00 pm on Saturday the 24th. You get the chance to taste all the entries if you have the appetite and can handle the hot sauce. Once the tasting test is over; all applicants that procured a tasting ticket will have a chance to vote for the People’s Choice Winner.
Afterwards a select panel of Mudbug Experts will judge and cast their votes using a point system to declare the champion in the Crawfish Cook-off.
Children will have a grand time too. The Scooby-Doo van will be present and the kids can get their picture taken with Scooby. There will be a $5.00 donation and the money will be provided to the South Mississippi Humane Society.
This special event is being held in Biloxi, MS at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum located at:
