A unique fundraiser is held annually at Harts Hill Inn Whitesboro, New York.
It’s called “Come to the Table” and is a presentation of original table designs created by local individuals and auctioned to benefit children, families, and the community. The event is presented by The Peacemaker Program, Inc. The Peacemaker Program offers inclusive, innovative approaches in the resolution of conflict to achieve positive outcomes for children, families, and the community.
Make sure to mark your calendars for this time next year (just before Easter) when this event is held. This year it was Saturday March 20, 2010. Every year you will see such artistic table designs from local breweries, Syracuse Sports, to eerie holiday settings. Vote for your favorite table. Get a bid number and bid on the design you would like to take home for entertaining family and friends. Food is available so you can stay for lunch and enjoy the event which begins at 10 AM and ends at 3 PM. You do not have to be on hand for the table awards. Bidding is allowed over the phone until 1:30 pm.
Local crafters are on hand to display and sell their beautiful crafts. You are welcome to purchase any of the items.

An “Artistic” Cranberry Banana Bread: A wonderful sweet bread that freezes well and is great to have on hand if company pop in.
Cranberry Banana Bread
- 2 cups sugar
- 1/2 cup canola oil
- 2 eggs
- 1 large overripe banana, mashed (or 1 cup of pureed pumpkin!)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract.
- 2 1/3 cup flour
- 1/2 tsp orange peel (or zest if you have fresh oranges handy)
- 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp ground cloves
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup chopped fresh cranberries.
Preheat oven o 350 F. Prepare 2 8″ loaf pans w/ oil and flour. Using a hand mixer, blend your first 5 ingredients until well combined. In large clean bowl, add the rest of your ingredients, except the cranberries. Combine the banana (or pumpkin) mixture into the flour mixture – do not over stir – just combine. Fold in the cranberries. Spoon into your 2 prepared loaf pans and bake for approx. 1 hour. Cool on racks for 1/2 hour before removing.
