After a victorious year for the Democrats, many wonder if they will be able to hold their title of majority come 2010. Democrats won the white house and the senate mainly because of the change they offered after a not so smooth eight years with George Bush. But now that Democrats are in control and putting through a new and expensive health care bill, will they be able to stay the majority?
It is a good question and the Republicans seem to like it the most. They say that Americans are seeing how radical the Democrats really are and Republicans say that come 2010 they believe they may have a shoot at being the majority. But do they have a chance even though Democratic approval is falling? I believe like many times the Democrats will pull it off and stay the majority. But I also believe that Democrats are in to lose a few seats soon.
Support for Democrats has fallen during the health care debate. This has happened because it has taken too long and Americans are becoming tired of the whole debate. Many are wondering what the Democrats have planned to do next. I believe if the Democrats want to stay in control they need to get to other issues. And quickly. They need to address climate change and energy bills if they want the American people to think higher of them. And starting after this month Democrats will hopefully be trying their best to do that.
Democrats know the issues and they are working hard to address them. Until the gridlock in Washington ends, I don’t think it is going to be possible to get anything done. It is now time for Washington to work together.
