The Los Angeles Spectrum International Beauty Expo (SIBE) has become one of the leading expositions in the country. On March 21st and 22nd, over 6000 people are expected to convene at the LAX Marriott Hotel, to network among industry hairstylists, barbers and makeup artists.
In addition to the many educators and sponsors scheduled to make appearances, the SIBE will showcase two of Hollywood’s most sought out stylists; makeup artist Cat’Ania McCoy-Howze and barber Corey Hill.
“Well I’m kind of a work-a-holic and I love what I do,” explains Corey, also known as ‘Chill’, “I’m very good at my craft so I come highly recommended.”
Corey is a barber who divides his time from his Turn ‘N’ Headz Salon in Fontana California, to working on feature films and television productions. He says his first celebrity client was 15 years ago with the pre-teen R&B singing group, Immature.
“I consider myself a professional barber,” says Corey, “and I’ve been blessed with celebrity clientele, and some really good and prominent people in the community.”

Corey’s clients are well known names at the movie theater marquee, like actors Wesley Snipes, Derek Luke and LL Cool J. His work was also featured on the hit TV show Randy Jackson’s America’s Best Dance Crew. For the dance group SoReal, Corey designed a hair style that used precision hair cutting, featuring letters and intricate shapes. “Well if it’s a freelance design, I just dive-in and ask the client what he wants and create from there.”
The SIBE’s Hip Hop Urban Graphics Student and Professional Barbering Competition will give Corey an opportunity to take center stage. His salon will sponsor the competition and introduce their new line of haircare products.
“This was the platform for me to stand on,” elates Corey, “I developed products based on my client’s needs and it was time to introduce these wonderful products to the world.”
Makeup Artist Cat’Ania McCoy-Howze will conduct The Beauty Of Airbrush Makeup Seminar at the SIBE on March 22nd. With a career that spans over 20 years, she worked on such memorable films like Ali, Confessions of A Dangerous Mind, and Antwone Fisher. Cat’Ania’s desire to pursue the arts was inspired by her mother when she was 12 years old.
“It’s been a magnificent journey for me in the makeup artist industry,” exclaims Cat’Ania, “I really enjoy working as a team with other professional makeup artists, to create that one cinematic experience.”
Cat’Ania’s passion for the arts has taken her from the makeup room to conducting interviews on the red carpet. Her appreciation of film and television production has inspired her to start a second career as an Entertainment Correspondent for DVIDEO 79 Productions.
Whether she’s in front of a camera or teaching in a classroom, Cat’Ania truly enjoys sharing some of Hollywood’s beauty secrets through her hands-on airbrush workshops. ” My classes are great for everyone,” exclaims Cat’Ania, “especially aspiring makeup artists, models, cosmetology students, teens and salon owners.”
Cat’Ania knows that traditional makeup application is a standard in the industry, but like her celebrity clientele who experience airbrush makeup for the screen; women of all ages are now requesting the same service at their favorite salon.
“Women and teens love to be pampered,” describes, Cat’Ania, “and to be treated with the same makeup application techniques that Hollywood celebrities enjoy, can be a very relaxing experience.”
