Tomorrow, April 22nd, is Earth Day and the best way to celebrate, along with recycling and planting trees, is enjoying a meal that highlights fresh local produce and top quality ingredients. The best place to find this celebratory meal is at Liquid Assets on 94th street in Ocean City. Their menu is as fresh as the changing of the seasons and the dishes are seasonally perfect in flavor, creativity, and presentation.
The Tuna Crisps appetizer bring together all the delicious asian flavors that pair so well with rare Ahi tuna. Scallions, sesame seeds, wasabi siracha cream cheese, kimchi, seaweed salad and crispy, salty wontons make this meal the perfect pre-dinner snack. Despite all the delicious ingredients, the dish is still light, leaving room for the main dish. Many restaurants have a variation of an Ahi tuna appetizer, but nothing beats the perfect execution and combination of flavors in L.A.’s Tuna Crisps.

For the main dish I always go for the special at Liquid Assets because their specials reflect their dedication to seasonal flavors. The pan seared chicken breast at Liquid Assets was served wing-in with a crispy crust filled with flavor and the chicken underneath was juicy and cooked to perfection. The chicken was served on top of a creamy potato hash consisting of fresh baby spinach, peas, and roasted tomatoes. The best part about this dish was the fresh sweetness of the vegetables and the amazing burst of flavor from the tomato. I have never in my life tasted a tomato as good as this.
Think green. No room to finish your meal? Liquid Assets uses small plastic take-out containers that are reusable and recyclable-no styrofoam here!
Don’t miss Liquid Asset’s free wine tasting this Saturday, April 24th at noon. And don’t be upset if you missed out on the dishes above-all menu changes at Liquid Assets mean fresher ingredients, and new, exciting flavors.
Happy dining, Taylor-OcExaminer
