The Can Do 5K Run and Walk is organized by Northshore Special Families to bring awareness to what kids with special needs Can Do. On this day, in this race, they celebrate the challenges kids with special needs face, and overcome. The Can Do 5K puts the emphasis on CAN.
This fun event is not only about raising money; but it is also an opportunity to bring the greater Northshore community together. You probably know at least one person in your community — at your church, in your child’s school, in your family — who has a disability.
Volunteer, participate, sponsor!
Think about the difference your contribution could make. As the title implies everyone CAN DO something; last year we had accomplished athletes, new runners, athletes with physical and developmental disabilities, regular walkers and families of all types. It is an inspiring day to see what we CAN DO together as a community. You will be glad to be involved.
The money that is raised through the CAN DO 5K/10K will help offer new and increased opportunities in the community for these special families, such as inclusive and specialized camps, on-going education and support with guest lectures and workshops.
What is the Can Do 5K?
