Collie fanciers, agility competitors, dachshund fanciers and trainers looking for conformation, obedience, rally and agility fun matches all have a chance to shine this weekend at events in Syracuse, Farmington and Albion NY.
The Rochester Collie Club and Collie Club of Western NY unite for four specialties Friday evening, March 12; Saturday morning and afternoon, March 13; and Sunday morning, March 14. The four specialty shows feature breed competition for rough and smooth collies, and junior showmanship competition at the Saturday and Sunday events. Come watch collies of every color and both varieties strut their stuff at the Orleans County Cornell Cooperative Extension, 12690 State Route 31, Albion, NY.
Friday, March 12 from 1-7 p.m., agility competitors can try their skills on a nested standard agility course at the Boomtowne Training Center, 1296 Beaver Creek Rd., Farmington NY. Trainers can buy practice ring time for $8 for the first run, and $5 for each additional practice run. For more information about the match, contact Lisa Lucas, 585-392-1508 or by email. No food will be permitted in the practice match ring because on Saturday and Sunday, Boomtowne hosts the Dog Obedience Training Club of Rochester NY (DOTCORNY) spring agility trials in the same rings. Trial competition runs from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, March 13 – 14, and features AKC Standard and Jumpers with Weaves classes both days.
