It’s week 7 of Biggest Loser season 9 and Cheryl and Darrell have been holding those torches on their heads for two weeks! (OK, not really, but we’ve been on an Olympics break.) It was a little over 10 minutes when Darrell’s torch holder thingie fell off his head and he had to go home.
Temptation challenge: The contestants learned that they’d be split up into black and blue teams, and the winner of the challenge would get to give someone – even themselves – immunity. They also get to choose the teams. Andrea and Michael raised their hands to play. The players play a game of Concentration and every time they don’t make a match they have to eat a cookie. The goal was to find two matching Golden Tickets. The thrill of eating cookies wore off quickly for the duo.
Quote of the week, from Michael to Andrea during the challenge: “I’m going to throw up on you later.”
After downing over 2,300 calories, Michael was darn lucky to find both Golden Tickets because the boy was full up!
The teams are:
- Black, working out with Jillian: Sam, Cheryl, Andrea, Stephanie, Sherry, Ashley
- Blue, working out with Bob: Koli, Daris, Lance, Miggy, Sunshine, O’Neal, Michael
Michael gave immunity to O’Neal. He’ll end up on whichever team loses a member this week.
Bob and Jillian came in the gym, and Jillian freaked about how the teams were organized. And for once I agreed with the game player. He won the challenge and the power so why would he squander the chance?
Then it was dinner — time for Subway and sulking. And for dessert, Larabars!
The challenge: Each team will lift their banner up to the top of the Sheraton Universal, standing on the roof. The prize: letters from home (weepy!). In the end it was the blue team’s brute force that gave them the win.
It was off to Dr. H to find out their updated Inner Age. “For the first time I can smile after leaving the doctor’s office,” said Sam. We only got to see Ashley’s and Sam’s numbers but they both improved after a few short weeks.
Weigh-in and elimination: Did Ali have a cocktail party to attend after the weigh-in? She was dressed to kill. Michael had another chance to beat Rudy’s record and he killed it with 15 pounds down – even with that temptation binge. Miggy flew into her usual rage over a 4-pound loss. Y’know, most people would give their right foot to lose 4 pounds in a week. Time for the black team, which started off slow. But in the end, the “little guys” prevailed and beat blue, which was shell shocked. In the elimination room, the vote see-sawed between Lance and Miggy and it came down to Koli, who cast the deciding vote to send Miggy home.
The update: Miggy’s down to 179 pounds and seems to have conquered her stress. She’s also working out with season 7 contestant Nicole, who still looks fabulously fit. Then we got an update on Darrell: he’s down 120 pounds now and works out with his wife.
Next week: O’Neal is back on the team with his daughter Sunshine and the blue team is determined to kick butt.
