The Baby Einstein DVD recall and upgrade offer ends Thursday, March 4. If you’re not satisfied with the Baby Einstein DVDs you purchased between June 5, 2004 and September 4, 2009, you can receive a full refund of $15.99 for each DVD, maximum four per household.
Baby Einstein’s parent company, Disney, does give you the option to exchange the DVDs for:
- One Baby Einstein Book of your choice
- One Baby Einstein music CD of your choice, OR
- One coupon for 25% off the purchase of one Little Einsteins product at DisneyStore.com
Again, if you prefer to return the DVDs, you can receive a $15.99 money back guarantee for each DVD. Visit http://www.babyeinstein.com/parentsguide/satisfaction/upgrade_us.aspx for more details on how to participate.
Please note: if you have more than one DVD, you can mail them in the same envelope, but each DVD must have a separate mail-in certificate.
The start of this recall began in 2006 when the Campaign for a Commercial-Free Childhood (CCFC) filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission. The group, led by campaign director Susan Linn, accused Disney of making false claims that the DVDs were educational for infants. Learn more at http://www.commercialexploitation.org.
