Spotlight on Detroit neighborhoods
Last April I took my camera on a walk through a neighborhood on the northwest side of Detroit. With all the bad press on the decline of Detroit’s neighborhoods most people would be surprised at what my photographs reveal.
Who would have thought that there were well kept, well manicured homes still in the Detroit vicinity! But that is indeed what my photographs show. Lawns mowed, houses without a sign of disrepair, and home owners tending to their property.
It was a beautiful spring day and I hope my photos give a hint to the beautiful spring we will have this year. Walking across the Jefferies freeway and finding more homes anyone would be proud to own, I couldn’t wait to share. Unfortunately I didn’t start this column until October!
Of course during that day back in April there were some dilapidated homes that marred the landscape, but all in all most homes were tended to lovingly. Please continue to page down to view the featured slideshow.
