Sometimes the best way to get what you want is to write yourself some new rules…and then, of course, follow them. If you find yourself wanting more (and better) work life balance, here are 10 new rules for you to consider. Or better yet, write your own!
1.) Break the old rules…be willing to take risks, step out of your comfort zone, do what you’ve never done before…be willing to be the “butterfly who bursts out of the restrictive cocoon and flies into life with beautiful new passion.”
2.) Realize that fear is F.E.A.R.: Fictitious Events Appearing Real…most of what we fear never happens…we make it up in our thinking…so instead, live in a new F.E.A.R.: Face Everything And Rejoice…be willing to simply face everything new (especially those things you might typically avoid) with curiosity and courage, and then reap the benefits of facing it all.
3.) Live from your Highest Self…create maximum abundance and prosperity in your life through your conscious thinking process by envisioning exactly what you want and intend to have in your life. Create a powerful vision for your life and visualize it daily.
4.) Choose to stick and never quit…in the darkest hours and in your biggest challenges you may be tempted to quit…these are the times when you must stick to your belief in yourself…always have more “stickability” than “quitability”!
5.) Live in the gratitude of Life…start and end your day with verbalizing at least ten things you are grateful for…focus on what you do have. Always look for and find the hidden gift in every challenging situation.
6.) Embrace discomfort…know that when you feel uncomfortable you are just simply leaving your comfort zone and going into the growth zone…and all the “good stuff” is just around the corner!
7.) Play B.I.G.: Being In Greatness…again, create a powerful vision for your life, then discover your purpose and set out on your mission to fulfill your vision and your purpose…use your values and set your priorities as boundaries to create a path of integrity which will lead you to your highest and biggest greatness!
8.) Feel it and make it real everyday…see yourself fulfilling all the dreams you’re creating for your life…allow yourself to truly feel the deep satisfaction, the happiness, the joy and the ecstasy of your success.
9.) Surround yourself with positive people and places…avoid emotional vampires and energy draining situations and, instead, choose people for your support network who support your goals and vision…choose places and events which are also in alignment with where you are going in your life and that will energize you rather than drain your energy.
10.) Marry YourSelf First every day…as weird as this might sound, commit to yourself to always show up in the best of your best…allow the “perfect imperfection” (that means your humanness) of you to shine no matter how challenging the situation…always march to the beat of your own drum, sing your own song and dance your own dance!
